<p>Ahmedabad: The Gujarat <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/anti-terrorism-squad">Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS)</a> on Wednesday arrested a fifth accused, a woman from Bengaluru, for her alleged links to Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), a banned terror outfit. </p><p>The 30-years-old woman identified as Shama Parveen is a commerce graduate who has been described by Gujarat minister of state for home Harsh Sanghavi as "highly radicalised who ran an online terror module". </p><p>ATS officials said that Parveen was arrested from her house in Bengaluru and was brought to Ahmedabad on transit warrant. Deputy Inspector General of Police, ATS, Sunil Joshi said that prima investigation has revealed that she had WhatsApp contacts in Pakistan which are being investigated. She is the fifth accused to have been arrested by the ATS. </p><p>Earlier the ATS had arrested four suspects including Md Faiq from Delhi, Md Fardeen, a resident of Gulmohar Tenements, Fatehwadi, Ahmedabad, Sefullah Kureshi, from Modasa in Gujarat and Zeeshan Ali, a resident of Chhajarsi Colony, Sector 63, Noida. </p><p>Parveen is said to be in touch with one of the co accused Faiq through social media. Originally from Jharkhand, Parveen was staying with her brother and aged mother in Bengaluru's Manorayanapalya Hebbal locality for the past five years in a rented accomodation. She said that it (her arrest) was also part of jihad and she was ready for it," an official said, requesting anonymity. He added that through their social media handles particularly Instagram, the suspects were spreading radical content against the country. </p><p>Officials said that through Instagram accounts, the suspects were allegedly spreading and propagating videos of proscribed terror outfits for "creating unrest and militancy tendencies in the local youth by drawing them towards the terrorist organisations and their radical ideology. </p><p>ATS officials suspect that the accused "worked together on Instagram to disseminate inflammatory and provocative content, including jihadi propaganda material, violent videos... In particular, the aim is to call for violence by targeting the institutions of Indian democratic governance."</p><p>ATS officials said that the suspects were professing the ideology AQIS "to incite the Muslim population of India to commit violence or terror attacks against disbelievers and causing disaffection against India by promoting armed rebellion against the government to establish Islamic Shariat abiding government or Khilafat." </p>
