IAS officer Tukaram Mundhe has been transferred yet again by the Maharashtra government - his 12th in the last 13 years.

In fact, this is the fourth transfer for him since May 2016. Mundhe had been in loggerheads with the political class at corporation level. His transfer comes at a time when the Winter Session of the Maharashtra legislature is to begin.
An officer of the 2005-batch, Mundhe was the Commissioner of Nashik Municipal Corporation.
"I have got good response from people. After all people have say in governance. It's participatory in nature. I would thank people for their support... this is what that inspires me," Mundhe said.
Asked about this transfer, he said, "Every year, now and then, kid has be admitted in a new school."
