<p>Registrar of IIT-K, Sanjeev Kashalkar said the institute would sign an MoU with Malaysia on Saturday for cooperation in the field of research and technology in electronics.<br /><br /></p>.<p>"The Malaysian government has approached us for technical assistance in setting up an electronics hub in Penang region of the south east Asian country," Kashalkar said.</p>.<p><br />He said the agreement will also facilitate exchange of teachers and students between the two countries.</p>.<p><br />To promote cooperation with overseas institutions, IIT-K, which is celebrating its Golden Jubilee year, is organising a workshop on Friday.</p>.<p><br />Christened as 'Prospectives of International collaboration for IIT Kanpur,' the workshop will be attended by delegations of scientists and technocrats from Brazil, Malaysia, South Africa, Ethiopia, Israel, Kashalkar said.</p>.<p>The institution, which has successfully collaborated with institutions in several countries including the US, is looking for more international opportunities, he added.</p>
