Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, the star attributed this trend to demand and supply. “We tried to cap the rates of remuneration. But the remuneration is determined by the demand for a particular actor.”
He, however, expressed concern over the downslide of the Rs 60,000-crore cine industry from 18 per cent to 14 per cent in recent years. He said the two-day MEBC, to be inaugurated by state Chief Minister K Rosaiah at Hotel Marriot here on December 1, will discuss all issues related to media.
Kamal also said he was not aware of the new project of director and producer Shankar, in which he was to be cast with Rajnikanth. “I spoke with Shankar in the morning on Thursday, its surprising that he told you about the new project and not me,” Kamal said in a lighter vein.
