<p> Two workers died on the spot and two others were injured in a mudslide near a building under construction atop a hillock at Mangaladevinagar in Madikeri on Sunday. <br /></p>.<p> Krishna, 34, and Venkatamma, 36, both residents of Mahboobnagar in Andhra Pradesh are the deceased. Venkatesh and Nagabhushan are the injured. <br /><br />They were digging the earth near a huge housing complex under construction when the earth caved in and the two workers were buried alive in 15-ft deep pit. Venkatesh and Nagabhushan were rescued by other workers. The fire personnel extricated the bodies.<br /> The workers insisted that the contractor should come to the spot before shifting the bodies for post mortem. <br /><br />They didn’t budge even after MLAs K G Bopaiah, Appachu Ranjan, additioal deputy commissioner H Prasanna to pacify. Finally, the police managed to convince them to shift the bodies.</p>
