2 MLAs quit, 1 takes oath

Mallikarjun Kharge and R Dhruvanarayan, elected to the Lok Sabha submitted their resignations. Rahim Khan, MLA elected to the Legislative Assembly in the by-poll from Bidar, took oath as MLA.

Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council V S Ugrappa handed over the Kharge’s resignation to speaker Jagadish Shettar as he was inducted into the Union Cabinet.

Dhruvanarayan personally submitted his resignation to the speaker.

Rahim Khan took oath as MLA in presence of former chief minister Dharam Singh, who is also elected to the Lok Sabha. With that the strength of the Congress in the Legislative Assembly stands at 73.
