Abide by convention: CM to Oppn

He was responding to a question on the issue of Opposition party leaders conducting officers’ meeting. He said leaders of Opposition parties could collect information from the officers. But they could not go against the conventions being followed in the democratic set up.

Meanwhile, Opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah on Tuesday demanded that the Chief Minister should withdraw the controversial circular issued by the Chief Secretary recently stating that opposition leaders do not enjoy any administrative powers like ministers. He termed the circular as “anti-democratic” and said CM Yeddyurappa should withdraw it if he had faith in the democratic set up.

The CM said that the State Government was not intended to delay the elections to BBMP. The government would make efforts to conduct the elections as per the court verdict.
