<p>Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, members of Nagarika Horata Samiti said, Vemagal has all the eligibility to be a taluk. It has 350 villages, 1.20 lakh population. A memorandum has been submitted to M B Prakash committee in this regard, which has not been considered by the committee. In protest of this call for Vemagal bundh has been given on July 24, members said.<br /><br />Vemagal gram panchayat should be upgraded to town municipal council, and 24 hrs power should be supplied to Vemagal, were their other demands.<br /><br />Gram Panchayat president P Nagaraj, vice-president V N Rajendraprasad, V M Kantraj, B P Giri, S Rajkimar, Mallesh, V M Nagesh, Manjunath and Sampat were present.</p>
