<p>Mangaluru, DHNS: Mayor Manoj Kumar has said that the <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/mangaluru">Mangaluru</a> City Corporation (MCC) will constitute teams comprising officials to inspect the violations of licences by salons and beauty parlours in the city limits.</p><p>This comes following activists led by Ram Sene leader Prasad Attavar barging into an unisex salon ‘Colors', near KSRTC bus stand in Bejai and went berserk damaging furniture, shattering glasses, assaulting and threatening women staff on January 23.</p><p>Mayor said that the majority of the salons, beauty parlours, spa, massage centres have availed licences from the urban local body. </p><p>“It is our duty to verify whether there was any violation of licence conditions by engaging in illegal activities. The team of officials will verify the documents and check the premises whether the licence conditions are adhered to. The police have to act against illegal activities in the name of salons and beauty parlours,” he said.</p>.With few takers for trade, goldsmiths in Karnataka fading.<p>"The officials will check as to what purpose the licence was issued for. Are the licence holders violating the licences? Strict action will be taken if there were any violations noticed during the visit by the teams,” he said.</p><p>It may be recalled that Kavitha Sanil as Mangaluru Mayor in 2017 had conducted raids on several illegal massage centres, skill game centres and sealed them.</p><p>During the monthly phone-in programme, a caller from Bondel said that a homestay is operating in the area and has been causing inconvenience to the residents to which, the mayor said that the officials will look into the issue.</p><p>The mayor said that the MCC only issues building licences for home stay. Other licences and approvals are issued by the tourism department.</p>
