'Agriculture sacred profession'

This was the oath taken by the farmers before former President A P J Abdul Kalam at Basavanna’s Koodalasangama near Bagalkot on Sunday.

He inaugurated the organic farming convention organised jointly by the State Organic Farming Mission, Agriculture department and Organic farming community by sowing different kinds of seeds and propounded that a nation’s all round development is possible only through organic farming.   

In coming days, India has a great opportunity to grow global organic produce. Farmers should take a oath to have a stability in development through organic farming, he said.
