Amid Karnataka bandh called by some Kannada organisations on the Mahadayi issue on February 4, the BJP top brass is going all out to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed rally on the same day in Bengaluru a big success.

The party's national president Amit Shah has instructed the state leaders to ensure maximum crowd mobilisation for the rally.

Shah, who held a series of meetings for the past two days here with the state leaders, has told them to make maximum efforts to make the rally successful.

Shah held the first meeting with BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa, Karnataka in-charge General Secretary Muralidhar Rao, national joint organising general secretary
B L Santhosh and another meeting with Legislative Assembly Opposition Leader Jagadish Shettar, Legislative Council Opposition Leader
K S Eshwarappa, former deputy chief minister R Ashoka and Union Fertilizer Minister Ananth Kumar.

Bandh sponsored: BJP

Some pro-Kannada organisations have called for a statewide bandh demanding the prime minister's intervention to resolve Mahadayi water dispute while the BJP has said that it has been sponsored by the Karnataka government to disrupt the prime minister's rally.

Shah has also instructed the state BJP leaders to foil attempts by the rival parties to disrupt the rally.
