Andhra Pradesh Guv to help Karnataka in temple land dispute: Minister R Ramalinga Reddy

After meeting Justice Nazeer at the Kumara Krupa Guest House, Reddy told reporters that the two engaged in detailed discussions on three key issues involving some of the most revered temples in Andhra Pradesh — Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), Srisailam, and Mantralayam.

Bengaluru: Muzarai and Transport Minister R Ramalinga Reddy on Monday said that the Governor of Andhra Pradesh (AP), Justice Abdul Nazeer, had assured him of support in helping Karnataka reclaim land in Tirupati that was originally allotted to the state but had since been taken over by the AP government.

After meeting Justice Nazeer at the Kumara Krupa Guest House here, Reddy told reporters that the two engaged in detailed discussions on three key issues involving some of the most revered temples in Andhra Pradesh — Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), Srisailam, and Mantralayam.

Highlighting that Justice Nazeer hails from Karnataka and presently serves as the governor of AP, Reddy said that the visit reflected efforts to strengthen cultural and administrative ties between the two states.

“Our discussions focused on three key issues,” Reddy said. “First, the land in Tirupati was originally granted by the kings. Second, 10 acres had been allotted to Karnataka in Srisailam. Third, the Karnataka government has already spent ₹85 crore on developments related to these land parcels. Now, with the Andhra Pradesh government seeking to reclaim these lands, it is inappropriate. That’s why we’ve requested the governor to intervene and urge the Andhra government to drop its proposal,” he added.

The minister added that relevant officials had already been instructed on the matter and assurances had been given regarding a possible resolution.
