<p>Deputy Commissioner B S Shekharappa has ordered health department officials to consider health matters in rural areas seriously, as there are possibilities of spread of vector-borne diseases.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Chairing the Arogya Raksha Samithi district-level meet in his office hall on Tuesday, the DC said that crores of rupees were being provided by the Central and the State government to provide health services to people.<br /><br />The officials must see to it that the funds are utilised to provide all necessary facilities at the district hospitals, he said.<br /><br />Approval was given to invite tenders for the selection of security staff, pharmacist and data entry operator on outsourcing bases and also to maintain the computerised system at the district hospital.<br /><br />The deputy commissioner meanwhile directed to make arrangements for the purchase of pushcarts used to distribute food to patients at the district hospital and towards the purchase of chemicals for the laboratory. He found a need for improvement in several areas of the district hospital.<br /><br />The executive committee members felicitated the DC, on the lines of him being transferred to Bengaluru. <br /><br />District Surgeon Dr R Doddamallapa, district health and family welfare officer Dr Neeraj, City Municipal Corporation Commissioner Nagabhushan and Information and Publicity Officer B Manjunath were present.<br /></p>
