The Forest department has suspended tourism activities at Hogenakkal, following rise in water level, reports DHNS from Hanur in Chamarajnagar district.

The water level at Hogenakkal has increased owing to heavy discharge from Krishnaraja Sagar dam in Srirangapatna and Kabini reservoir in HD Kote taluk.

Range Forest Officer Shankar D Antaragatti told DH that additional security personnel had been deputed at the check post and no vehicles were allowed near the falls. The regular activities will resume once the water level recedes, he added.
