Beary Language Day observed in Mangaluru

The Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy observed ‘Beary Language Day’ organised as part of the Beary language publicity campaign in Mangaluru on Saturday.

The photography exhibition featuring photographs of senior photographer Ahmed Anwar and an exhibition of Beary books was inaugurated by Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo.

An anthology of stories by Fakruddin Iruvail ‘Kirfa’ was also released by the District In-Charge Minister B Ramanath Rai.

Speaking on the occasion, former minister B A Moideen said, several persons have contributed to the growth of Beary language and culture.

Raghunath Shenoy, Babu Shetty and Padma Moolya, Hameed Pakkaladka, Ashraf Apollo, Mohammed Baddoor, Rasheed Nandavar, Abdul Khader Kuttethoor, Mariam Ismail, Ayesha U K, Basheer Ahmed Kinya and Abdul Azeez Haq were felicitated on the
occasion. Delivering a lecture on the diversity of language, University College retired professor Satyanarayana Mallipatna, Member of Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza, MLA Mohiuddin Bava and others were present.
