<p>Bengaluru: Elections to Bengaluru's five newly formed municipal corporations will be held after November, Deputy Chief Minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/d-k-shivakumar">D K Shivakumar </a>announced on Tuesday. </p><p>The state government plans to complete the process of finalising the boundaries of all corporations and their wards in the next four months, he added. </p><p>"We welcome suggestions and objections from the public related to the boundaries of five newly formed corporations. The window to share concerns is open till August 18. We are planning to issue the final notification on September 2," said Shivakumar, who is also the Bengaluru development minister.</p>.Bengaluru now categorised into 5 new municipal corporations, Here's all you need to know .<p>On September 3, the government plans to form a delimitation committee to demarcate ward boundaries for the five corporations. </p><p>"The committee will get about a month's time to complete the exercise and we will again seek objections from the public. The final ward boundaries will be out on November 1. Subsequently, the ward reservations will be announced," he said, reiterating what the government informed the Supreme Court during the recent hearing on the much-delayed BBMP polls. </p><p>Shivakumar promised that the government would hold elections to the municipal corporations as soon as all "processes are completed". </p><p>The BBMP election has been due since September 2020. </p><p>The previous BJP government delayed the elections over enacting a law exclusively for Bengaluru that empowering zones and increased the number of wards from 198 to 243. </p><p>However, the Congress government junked that law by enacting the Greater Bengaluru Governance Act, 2024. This law proposed splitting the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) into smaller corporations and creating an apex body called the Greater Bengaluru Authority for coordination purposes. </p> <p><strong>e-khata drive from Oct 22</strong></p><p>To encourage more property owners to apply for e-khata, the BBMP will conduct a drive from October 22 to November 1. </p><p>During this period, the civic body will take the help of its employees, Bescom and BWSSB bill collectors and government schoolteachers to go door-to-door and encourage people to apply for e-khata. </p><p>"This is the property guarantee we are giving," Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said. </p><p>There are about 24 lakh properties in the BBMP limits. E-khatas have been issued to about 6.5 lakh properties after their owners submitted sale deed, property photograph and other documents, he added. </p><p><strong>Hebbal flyover loop</strong></p><p>Shivakumar also said that the new loop at the Hebbal flyover would be opened for public use on August 9.</p>
