Bengaluru jams under limelight again after ex-Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai shares 'traffic tourism package'

Bengaluru's never-ending traffic woes have yet again caught the attention of social media. Mohandas Pai, former CFO of Infosys, shared a satirical social media post which featured an 'advertisement' for a "4-day, 3-night Bangalore traffic tourism" package.

The post that Pai shared featured the city's worst congestion points - Outer Ring Road, Silk Board Junction, Marathahalli, and HSR Layout as tourist destinations.

Pai sharing the picture wrote, "A sad joke on Bengaluru. At least we have a sense of humor about our suffering and an uncaring government."

The viral "Bengaluru Traffic Tourism" post has garnered an array of reactions from users on X. While some found the post humorous others weren't amused.

One user commented on the post bringing in the language aspect: “Joke is not sad per se, but the fact that it's not written in Kannada might upset many!”

“You have been posting so many rants... What is your solution to Bengaluru’s traffic problems? Build tunnels, elevated roads, flyovers, underpasses? Please come up with some practical suggestions, would be far more useful,” another user wrote as he called out Pai for his repeated criticism of the city without offering any solutions.

A user commented, “You will always be in front to defame Bengaluru's name.”

One user commented, "If we are to solve traffic problem! 25 prominent or IT people committe. Headed by you ! 1. Comprehensive plan for roads just 2 roads for itpl , how onnearth did end like this for 6lk people. Just 4 lanes? 2. Metro 3. Flyover, roads. 4. Ring road 5. New loc for industries."

Mohandas Pai earlier this month met with Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar to discuss the infrastructure development of Bengaluru.

"I spoke to Shivakumar regarding Bengaluru. I want him to be a hero for Bengalureans, take Bengaluru forward and make it the best city in the country," he said speaking to reporters after the meeting.

He added, "We need a good infrastructure, cleanliness, good footpaths and best public transport. We want the Metro rail to be completed at the earliest."

Pai said Shivakumar assured him that he would require six months to start improving the Bengaluru's infrastructure.
