<p>Bengaluru: Senior IAS officer and Namma Metro chief M Maheshwar Rao will now also head the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). </p>.<p>The state government on Monday placed Rao, a 1995-batch IAS officer, in the concurrent charge of the BBMP chief commissioner. </p>.<p>Tushar Girinath, the 1993-batch IAS officer and the BBMP's outgoing chief commissioner, has been given three responsibilities: he is now the additional chief secretary of the home and urban development departments, as well as the BBMP administrator. </p>.<p>His predecessor, SR Umashankar, is retiring on superannuation on April 30. </p>
