<p>Tension prevailed at a sports accessories’ showroom on Bannerghatta Road for some time on Thursday evening after an unidentified person made a bomb alert call. The jurisdictional police rushed to the spot, thoroughly checked every corner of the showroom and concluded that the alert call was hoax.</p>.<p><br />Raveendra, manger of Deccathlon showroom at Alkaa Park, Kalena Agrahara on Bannerghatta Road, received a call around 4.20 pm. The caller told him that the a bomb had been planted in the showroom which would explode any time and disconnected the call, the police said.<br /><br />Raveendra immediately called up the police who rushed to the spot with sniffer dog and bomb detection and disposal squads. The team checked the showroom premises for about two hours. Later, everybody heaved a sigh of relief when the police declared that there was no bomb. <br /><br />The hoaxer had called the shop from a particular cellphone. The showroom management suspected the involvement of a former employee in the case. The employee had quit recently and he made a call with some agenda, the police added.<br /><br />Raveendra has lodged a complaint with the police mentioning the cellphone number. “We are trying to trace the caller and he would be arresteds soon,” said the police inspector.</p>
