At the meeting held on Friday, Assistant Labour Commissioner Narasimahaiah directed the Bosch management to lift the lock-out from first shift (6 am) on Saturday and at the same time directed the workers to maintain normal working conditions, pending their charter demands. In another development, Bosch also decided to withdrew notice to declare lock-out of its main plant.
Bosch had declared a lock-out at its Naganathapura plant with effect from March 9 after a go slow strike followed by tool down strike by the workers. The union has been demanding Rs 15,000 more per employee on their last revised salaries.
The charter of demands will now be be taken up at another tripartite meeting with the assistant labour commissioner on Monday.
Earlier in the day, Bosch representatives briefly called on Chief Minister Yeddyurappa at Vidhana Soudha. Labour Minister Bache Gowda who was present at the meeting said the chief minister told the representatives to find an amicable solution to end the stalemate.
The Naganathapura plant employs more than 700 workers, while the main plant has a workforce of 2,400
Mico Karmikara Sangha President Prasanna Kumar, at a press conference in Bangalore on Friday morning said It was agreeable to the union if the management assured an interim relief of Rs 4,500.However, the management had agreed to provide relief to the tune of Rs 3,000.
