Builder kidnapped

Police said the victim, Umapathy (30), a resident of Sarvabhoumanagar was returning home after visiting a temple. The kidnappers dragged him into the car at Ramanjaneya Layout. Umapathy, who hails from Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh, reportedly owed huge sums. The motive for the kidnap might be financial, the police suspect.

Temples burgled

Thieves struck at two temples in Mahadevapura and Indiranagar on Friday night and fled with cash in the hundi. Culprits gained entry into Benaka temple in RHB Colony in Mahadevapura  and broke open the hundi which contained about Rs 20,000.  In Indiranagar, culprits struck in a similar fashion at Anjaneya temple in Dinamangala and fled with cash. Total amount stolen is not known, police said.
