The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has set up a special squad to check the illegal drawal of water and removal of water meters by consumers.
The consumers found guilty of using water drawn illegally will be booked under the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board Act and the offence attracts six-month imprisonment and penalty.
The special squad will also plug leakages in ground-level reservoirs at various places, according to a press release from the Board.
