Driver booked after car runs over, kills stray dog sleeping outside bakery in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The JB Nagar police have booked an unidentified car driver for running over and killing a street dog.

The FIR was registered on August 4 under sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and Section 325 (mischief by killing or maiming an animal) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Complainant Abhijith Das stated that on August 3, around 3.11 pm, a car bearing the number KA03 NS3330 ran over a dog sleeping in front of a bakery at HAL 3rd Stage. The dog died on the spot.

The police have launched a probe to trace the driver.
