<p>The special team of the Central Crime Branch has recovered more than 22 kilos of jewellery worth Rs 66 lakh by arresting a five-member inter-state gang of criminals.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The arrested are: Harish Kumar, 36, a resident of Lakkavalli village in Bhadravathi taluk; Santosh, 29, of Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu; Deepak, 30, from Bannerghatta; R Satish, 27, Hosur Road and Alexander, 31, from Bilekalli. <br /><br />The gang used stolen bikes to accost lone women and rob them at desolate places before absconding. <br /><br />They committed such offences in 55 places in the City and Mysore. <br />The City police had constituted a special team following an increase in chain snatching <br />cases.<br /><br />Booty recovered<br /><br />Stolen valuables worth Rs 1.80 crore were recovered by the CCB East Division police by arresting 14 persons, recently. <br /><br />According to police, the crimes were allegedly committed in Bangalore and Hiriyur of Chitradurga district. The police had launched a special drive over the last two months leading to their arrest. <br /></p>
