Conference highlights innovation; launches textbooks & new medical journal in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The National MSc Medical Teachers’ Association (NMMTA) held its sixth conference — Clinical Scientists on Research in Basic Medical Sciences — on Sunday at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering.

Industry experts, researchers and delegates discussed the theme 'Omics in Health and Disease', focusing on innovations in genomics, proteomics and related fields to tackle health challenges and improve disease management.

"This conference represents a pivotal opportunity for clinical scientists to bridge basic medical research with real-world health outcomes,” said Dr Sukhes Mukherjee, a key organiser.

Two textbooks were released at the event — one authored by Dr Aadam Najeeb, with a chapter by NMMTA General Secretary Dr Ayan Kumar Das, unveiled by Dr HS Nagaraja; and another by Dr Chandrashekhar, released by Dr KS Nagabhushana.

The association also launched its official journal, Journal of Foundational Medical Research, open for submissions from medical researchers, said NMMTA president Dr Arjun Maitra.
