Cops arrested for culprit's escape

The decision to arrest them came after the police inspector Mohammed Aslam conducted an inquiry and submitted a report.

Dharam Singh Yadav, a retired Indian Air Force sergeant, arrested in connection with the murder of his wife and two children gave head constable Nanjundegowda and police constable R Lingaraju the slip and fled when he was taken to the hospital for treatment.

It was alleged that Yadav bribed the cops and fled. The two were sent to the Central Jail  at Parappana Agrahara.

Girl harassed

The Vijayanagar police have registered a case against Dr Halappa for allegedly harassing his maid. The girl had lodged a complaint with a few women’s organisations. Police said the maid who hails from Honnali in Davangere was working at Dr Halappa’s house for the past two months.
