<p>A 24-year-old woman died in the City after she fell from the third floor of an apartment in Madiwala early Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Moksha Nanaiah, hailing from Virajpet in Coorg.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Moksha was working with a private firm in the City and was residing at Arakere. She was unmarried and had come to Bangalore five years ago. <br /><br />The incident occurred at an apartment in the CPWD quarters, Madiwala. Moksha had been to her friend Kalappa’s house on Saturday night for a weekend party. Kalappa, 24, who is also from Coorg, is working as a software engineer in Accenture. <br /><br />On Saturday night, the two climbed up to the terrace on the second floor using an <br />iron ladder and got drunk in a room where the over-head tank’s controls are placed. <br />At the break of dawn, they decided to get back home before the neighbours woke up. <br />Kalappa got down using the iron ladder.<br /><br /> But Moksha, who was in an inebriated state, lost the grip on the ladder while climbing down and fell to the ground floor. She died on the spot. <br /><br />Kalappa recounted that Moksha was heavily drunk and wasn’t stable at the time. He told the police that he went down the ladder first and reached the second floor. Moksha, who followed, lost her grip on the rails of the ladder and fell down. <br /><br />Autopsy was conducted at the Victoria Hospital on Sunday morning and the body was taken to Virajpet, her hometown. <br /><br />Youth killed in accident<br /><br />A BMTC bus mowed down a 25-year-old technician near Jakkasandra on Sarjapur Road Sunday afternoon. <br /><br />Manjunath of Jakkasandra employed in a shop in the area was hit by the bus when it veered off the road to the left suddenly in order to avoid a car overtaking from the right, the police said. <br /><br />He was killed on the spot. The Adugodi traffic police have registered a case and arrested the bus driver, Manjegowda. <br /><br /></p>
