Financier hacked to death

A 28-year-old man was hacked to death by six to eight unidentified men in Mariyappanapalya in Jnanabharathi on Wednesday evening.

The deceased, identified as Pratap, was a financier and a resident of Puttenahalli in JP Nagar.

According to the police, Pratap had gone to attend the birthday party of his friend’s son in Mariyappanapalya 3rd Cross around 7 pm when the gang attacked him with machetes. He was only a few metres away from his friend’s house when the incident happened, the police said.

DCP (West) Ravi D Channannavar said the accused had followed Pratap from his house in JP Nagar. "We have obtained some crucial information about the gang, including their plot. We will arrest all the accused involved in the case," he said. The Jnanabharathi police have registered a case and are investigating.
