A four-member interstate gang of dacoits were arrested for robbing a jeweller in the city.

The suspects - Suman Bahadur Bisht (27), Prakash Giri alias Dhanraj Giri (39), Kishan Giri (29) and Bayne Kadaka (19) - are all from Nepal.

The JC Nagar police have seized gold ornaments worth Rs 7 lakh and other valuables from the suspects.

On February 20, they had gained entry into the house of Ashok Bhatia, an owner of a jewellery shop situated on Millers Road, the police said. They threatened and tied up Hitesh Sharma and Yogesh Sharma, Bhatia's associates who were in the house, to a pillar and fled with the booty in Bhatia's car, the police said.

Based on Bhatia's complaint, the police traced and arrested Bisht, who landed at the Kempegowda International Airport from Pune, within
five days of registration of the case.

Upon interrogation, the police learnt that the gang had planned to rob another house in Banashankari and for this purpose Bisht had come to the city. Based on Bisht's confession, three of his accomplices were arrested.
