Govt for slum-free State, says Ambareesh

Housing Minister M H Ambareesh on Thursday said that the government has decided to make the State slum-free.

Speaking to reporters here,  he said steps are being taken to construct apartment complexes for the slum dwellers.

He said that the Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) will form Suryanagar IV phase project near Anekal at the cost of Rs 5,000 crore in three years.

The project may be developed on 2,400 acres, covering Indlawadi, Baggaladoddi, Kadujagganahalli, Konasandra and Gangondanahalli.

The government has approved a Rs 4,500-cr drinking water project for Anekal town.
