<p> P Kodandaramaiah, former commissioner of Police, Bangalore, had moved the High Court challenging the BBMP order granting permission to install loudspeakers in the parks to play devotional songs. <br /><br />“This created noise pollution and annoyed the residents,” the petitioner argued. “They also disturb the birds in the park,” the petitioner contended.<br /><br />The petitioner said that the BBMP was not authorised to give permission for loudspeakers in the parks, as it was violative of the Karnataka Municipal Corporation Act, 1976. <br /><br />The Court asked the petitioner to file the amended application by incorporating the responsible parties as respondents.
