<p>Justice K N Keshavanarayana ordered issue of notices on a petition filed by K Subramanya Sastry under section 482 of the CrPC, 1973 (saving of inherent powers of High Court) "to expedite investigation, prevent abuse of power and to secure ends of justice into the inflated sales declaration" by top officials of the Navaratna company.<br /><br />Earlier this month, a Division bench headed by Chief Justice J S Khehar had dismissed a petition by the petitioner seeking direction to prosecute the said officials.<br />It had stated prayers of such nature could not be entertained under Article 226 of the Constitution and the petitioner may seek suitable directions by filing an appropriate petition under section 482 of the CrPC.</p>
