While allowing the petition filed by the devotees of Sampangi Ramaswamy Temple, Cunningham Road, Bangalore, the division bench headed by chief justice J S Khehar quashed the state government order on June 17, 2010 leasing of an extent of 2,250 square feet of prime property of the temple to the Karnataka Dalith Industrialist Federation.
The petitioner has contended that, the state government has no power to grant lease of temple property to private parties.
