The Bengaluru traffic police has been using drones to monitor traffic in the city for more than a year now. According to M N Anucheth, Joint. Commissioner of Police (TRAFFIC), these drones are helping the BTP to coordinate and deploy its manpower efficiently, which in turn helps to reduce traffic congestion. The drones are also used to train the traffic police’s new AI programmes, which can calculate vehicle density, identify hazards, and assess pedestrian behaviour. DH’s Udhbavi Balakrishna visited multiple locations to see the drones in action. Watch the story to know more about Bengaluru traffic police's eye in the sky.
