<p>Having acted in movies like ‘Director’s Special’, ‘Rhaatee’ and the recent flick, ‘Boxer’, it is safe to say that Dhananjaya has got himself noticed in Sandalwood. He is all excited about his role in the upcoming movie ‘Jessie’, which will release on March 24. It was the many facets of the character that made him accept it.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The director of the movie is Pawan Wadeyar and the producer is Kanakapura Srinivas. “I met Pawan at an event in 2014 and that was when he narrated the script to me. I was immediately floored. He kept insisting that I would work perfectly for the role and I asked him why? He said that I looked like Jesus Christ when I donned a beard and that was something this role demanded. I was impressed by his persistence,”he narrates.<br /><br />Dhananjaya had seen Pawan’s movie ‘Googly’ and knew that it would be a delight to work with the director. “I agreed and we shot for the movie. It was a lot of fun and a learning experience to work with him and the team. Now, when the movie is set to release, I am excited and nervous. The movie has a surprise element to it and the team and I have our fingers crossed. We are positive that the audience will accept the movie,” he says.<br /><br />The movie is a romantic one and Dhananjaya will star opposite Parul Yadav. On why he chose to work in the movie, he says, “Unlike other romantic movies like ‘Boxer’ or ‘Rhaate’, this movie was more performance-oriented. I didn’t have to do any intense training for the role, but it was challenging. I play different shades in the movie. ” <br /><br />The movie has Dhananjaya in a stylish avatar with short hair. “This character is well-dressed and the costumes are elaborate. The look and the character changes as the movie progresses. It was the role and the script that got me excited about this project,” he adds.<br /><br />The actor strongly believes that one’s performance is influenced by the artistes one works with. He says, “Parul is a competitive artiste. Working with such talented artistes, one analyses one’s own performance. She is a great actor.” <br /><br />“Apart from the love story, the songs are also a highlight. Anoop Seelin has done an excellent job with the songs and they are already a big hit among the movie buffs on the social media and other platforms,” he adds.<br /><br /></p>
