<p>Bengaluru: The Karnataka government on Monday appointed IAS officer Vasanthi Amar B V as special deputy commissioner for the Railway Infrastructure Development Company Karnataka (K-RIDE) with immediate effect. </p>.<p>A 2017-batch IAS officer, Vasanthi had been waiting for a posting. Prior to that, she was special deputy commissioner-3, Bengaluru Urban District (North). </p>.K-RIDE sets ball rolling for suburban railway line from Majestic to Bengaluru airport.<p>Bangalore South MP, LS Tejasvi Surya, urged the state government to appoint a full-time technocrat managing director for K-RIDE to "ensure effective management and timely completion of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project". </p>.<p>K-RIDE, a special purpose vehicle for implementing the BSRP, is a joint venture between Karnataka and the railways. </p>.<p>Manjula N, K-RIDE's current MD, is also the Secretary of the Infrastructure Development, Ports and Inland Water Transport Department. </p>
