The Karnataka State Human Rights Commission on Tuesday directed Chief Secretary Sudhakar Rao to consider a representation by the Sumanahalli Society on a recent Cabinet decision to take back 45 acres of the 50 acre land allotted to the Society. The Commission wanted an action taken report within six weeks on the matter.
Formed in 1977, the Sumanahalli Society has been working for lepers, HIV/AIDS persons, orphans, juvenile delinquents and street children within 50 acre land.
The society wants the government to allow it to use land allotted in 1977 to carry on with its works
