<p>A lecturer of a city-based college drowned in the sea near Pondicherry on Saturday.</p>.<p>A lecturer at St Joseph's PU College, Prashanth Hariharan (25) was on a trip with his colleagues when the accident occurred.</p>.<p>Hariharan is an alumnus of the same college, where he had studied BSc. He completed MSc in Mathematics and joined the college as a lecturer a year ago. He taught the PU students.</p>.<p>"He commanded respect from the students and management alike," said Kiran Jeevan, the victim's colleague. Jeevan said Hariharan was an active member of the wilderness awareness conservation club.</p>
