According to a release issued by the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the elections to the Mayor under the General category and the Deputy Mayor under the reserved category will be held at the BBMP head office. The Chief Minister earlier on Friday said the elections will be held on Friday.If time permits, the elections for various standing committees will also be held on the same day.
The BJP, which won a comfortable majority in the BBMP elections, will install its first Mayor and Deputy Mayor. He, however, refused to disclose names of the candidates chosen for the coveted posts. The elected corporators from the BJP believe that it will be a straight fight between Katte Satyanarayana (Basavangudi) and S K Nataraj (Sarakki).
