Namma Metro will return to the higher frequency of 3.30 minute in peak hours after officials ensure that the introduction of the additional trips will not lead to problems similar to those experienced on Tuesday.

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) had introduced 10 additional trips on Purple Line (Byappanahalli-Whitefield) and three on Green Line (Nagasandra-Yelachanahalli) from January 2.

"The running of additional trains on Tuesday led to some problems. We have now decided to introduce additional services gradually to ensure the capacity of the line. Once the system is stabilised, we will return to the frequency of 3.30 minute during peak hours," BMRCL public relations officer U A Vasanth Rao said, adding that the process may take 15 days.
