It will be a double bonanza for art lovers in the city with the National Gallery of Modern Art hosting two exhibitions in its premises.

The NGMA, in collaboration with Nazar Foundation, New Delhi, will present an exhibition of rare and intimate photographs of Mahatma Gandhi by his grandnephew and personal chronicler, Kanu Gandhi. Titled ‘Kanu’s Gandhi’, the exhibition has been curated by Prashant Panjiar and Sanjeev Saith. The exhibition will be on view till October 30, 10 am onwards in its premises.

National Gallery of Modern Art in collaboration with Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi will also present an exhibition titled ‘A retrospective of A Ramachandran’ in its premises till October 26, 10 am onwards. Curated by R Sivakumar, the exhibition encompasses more than hundred monumental works of this internationally acclaimed senior artist.

A versatile artist, Ramachandran has tried his hand from monumental murals to miniatures, water colours, sculptures, graphic art, writing and illustrating children’s picture books and even designing postage stamps. His children’s books are highly acclaimed internationally, specially in Japan. Drawings, watercolors, oils, sculptures, murals — all tell a tale of his accomplished career in art and bring varied phases and aspects of his work into focus.
