A police complaint has been lodged against senior BJP leader and MLA Aravind Limbavali for threatening to murder a man for making adverse comments against him in a Facebook post.

Venkatesh Maurya, a resident of Mathikere, in a recent post had claimed that Limbavali had borrowed Rs 30 lakh from a retired DCP named Thimmappa in 2009 to meet the expenses for contesting from the Chitradurga Lok Sabha constituency. The post reportedly contained adverse remarks against Limbavali.

Maurya received a call from a man on Monday afternoon. The caller threatened to murder Maurya if he did not remove the post and close his Facebook account. Maurya approached the police and lodged a complaint. The police registered a non-cognizable report based on the complaint.
