Portion of Babusapalya Main Road in a shambles on the face of heavy traffic

Bengaluru: A stretch of Babusapalya Main Road, which connects to the Outer Ring Road, continues to resemble an off-road track rather than a city street.

Although the stretch — part of the KR Puram Assembly constituency — experiences heavy traffic, the section near the railway track is covered only with loose stone aggregates. Despite this, the civic body has not asphalted the road for several months.

Local residents complained that many two-wheelers have slipped and fallen due to the road’s uneven surface.

More concerning is the apparent lack of attention from authorities, even though the road handles as much traffic as other major roads like 80 Feet Road in Indiranagar or Banaswadi Main Road.

A few months ago, residents of Prakruthi Township organised a symbolic protest, but the road remains in a state of neglect.

To make matters worse, hundreds of vehicles frequently get stuck at the unmanned level crossings, with authorities and elected representatives showing little to no intention of constructing a railway underpass or an overbridge.
