Though most of the shopkeepers knew about the problem, none of them bothered to complain to Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB).

One of the shopkeepers, who sells ready made clothes, was more concerned about water being splashed on her hanged clothes rather than water getting wasted. “Every time a vehicle passes by, water gets splashed on clothes. No one has complained about this," she said. Another shopkeeper was not aware from when the water was flowing.

When Deccan Herald brought it to the notice of Assistant Executive Engineer Ninge Gowda around 4:30 pm, he said he will be able to repair it only on Friday. "We take immediate action. The biggest problem is that nobody complains. Leaks are repaired only when one of our officials on rounds finds a water leakage," he added.
