Two from B'lore killed in Sira accident

Two people died on the spot and four suffered serious injuries when a four-wheeler in which they were travelling, toppled after hitting a median on the National Highway 4 in Tavarekere police station limits in Sira on Sunday.

The dead have been identified as Mutthuraju, 29, and Mariyappa, 30, both residents of Bangalore.

Siddappa, Vijayalakshmi, Usha and driver Raju have been seriously injured. They are being treated at a hospital in Tumkur.

Travelling for festival

Mariyappa and his family members were travelling to Dodderi village in Challakere taluk to celebrate Shivarathri festival, when the accident occurred.

According to the police, negligence on part of the driver is said to be the reason for the mishap.  A case has been registered at the Sira police station in this regard.
