Two brothers, another killed in mishap

The Rajanakunte police said the dead were Krishna (25), a supervisor from Hubli, Durgappa (26) and his brother Raghavendra (29) from Gulbarga. Lorry driver Yogesh escaped unhurt and is absconding. Eyewitness said two others travelling in the cabin also escaped unhurt.

Sources said Durgappa and Raghavendra had received their pay and were on their way home. They requested for a drop to the main road for catching a bus to Gulbarga.

The truck attached to Grade Mix Company left the plant at Kuduregere to drop a consignment at Hoskote. Around 9.30 am, after crossing Itigalpura Gate and while manoeuvring a steep curve, the driver lost control and the vehicle rammed a tree.
The heavily loaded truck toppled and was dragged to some distance before coming to a halt. It took a few hours to pull the bodies out of the crumpled truck.

Man found hanging

Gopi (21), a mechanic and a native of Saleem, Tamil Nadu was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his Muniswamappa Layout residence in Ulsoor on Wednesday.

His roommate found Gopi dead when he returned from work. A note, purportedly written by Gopi found on the premises which blames none for the death, said police.

Motorcyclist killed

Raman Kalitha (34), who was riding a two-wheeler was killed when his bike rammed into a wayside cement pole near Nelagedarahalli on Tumkur Road in the early hours of Thursday, police said. Kalitha from Guwhati and was a security guard at Vidyaniketan School, Nelagedarahalli.

Houses burgled

A silk merchant’s house in II stage, Ananya Block in Gnanabharati was burgled and on Wednesday. Cash to the tune of Rs 50,000 and around gold and silver articles weighing five kg are missing.

Byadrappa, the complainant has stated that he and his family went out of station on Wednesday. They returned the next morning to find the door of the locked house broken open, according to police.

In a similar incident, the house of Shiva Basappa Raju, an IT industry employee, at Amruthalli was burgled, with with  Rs 1.5 lakh worth valuables missing. In his complaint to police, Raju said he and his family were visiting Mysore when the burglary took place.

The HSR Layout police arrested Narasimha of Marenahalli village in Kolar district and Manjunath of Sarjapura and seized jewellery, and other valuables worth Rs six lakh.
Police said the duo burgled four locked houses behind Matha Amritanandamayi College, when the owners were away.

Gas cylinder scam

The CCB police arrested four men for allegedly converting domestic gas cylinders into commercial gas containers. They seized 74 filled domestic cylinders, an electrical motor used to transfer the gas, hand pumps, plastic pipes, filling gun, weighing machine and an auto rickshaw worth Rs five lakh.

Mohammad Amzad, Arogyaswamy and Joseph would transfer the gas from domestic cylinders to commercial cylinders at a shed on Begur Main Road , police said.

Watches seized

Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement officials and Jeevanbimanagar police raided a shop on New Thippasandra Main Road and seized fake wrist watches of a reputed brand, worth Rs. six lakh. A case was booked against the shop owner.
