Village accountant held for graft

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday arrested a village accountant on charges of graft. The accused V Kumar, a Village Accountant in Devanahalli taluk, was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe.

The complainant, a resident of Reddihalli village in Devanahalli, had approached the taluk office seeking a change in the RTC. The accused demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 and later scaled it down to Rs 25,000. Based on a complaint, ACB sleuths laid a trap and arrested Kumar while accepting the bribe amount of Rs 15,000.
