White-topping works: Contractors penalised by BBMP

Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has levied a fine of Rs 10 lakh on two contractors for failing to start white-topping works in the city.

While one company failed to begin work on the stretch between West of Chord Road and Hosakerehalli, the other was slow in completing the works on Vyalikaval Main Road.

Officials noted that this had caused inconvenience to the public.
