Chhattisgarh CM assures of power to State soon

Singh who is on a two-day private visit to Orange County resort near Siddapura in Kodagu district with his family, addressing a media conference at the Virajpet Junior College helipad said, the work on the first stage to produce 1,200 megawatt power will be expedited.

The land, water and other basic facilities will be provided. The Chattisgarh State Electricity Board Chairman had a held meeting in this regard on Monday and is in continuous touch with the Karnataka Power Corporation Limited nodal officer, he said. Once the  work starts it will be completed in 40 months, he added.

Joint ventures

Along with power, talks were on to take up joint ventures in other areas with the Karnataka government. A discussion has already been held in this regard with CM B S Yeddyurappa, he said in reply to a question.

“In the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP will emerge as the single largest party and the NDA will get more than 272 seats to form a government at the Centre,” he said expressing.

Earlier, Singh came with his wife, son, daughter and 88-year-old father in the helicopter.
They were welcomed by legislators A P Appachuranjan, S G Medappa, Mysore Division
Regional Commissioner Jayanthi, Deputy Commissioner M K Baldevakrishna, Additional Commissioner Chikkathammaiah and KPCL Superintendent Engineer Shanker Devanuru.
