'Chukkimela' concludes in Kolar

The children, who performed different kinds of folk dances, later presented a play based on the book ‘Papu Gandhi Bapu Gandhiyadhadu’ written by Boluvaru Mohammed Kunhi. The play depicted the journey of a young Gandhi who later on went on to become Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, and his struggle for the country’s freedom.Before the play, 98-year-old Muniyappa, a freedom fighter, was felicitated by senior journalist M S Prabhakar.

Directed by Pramod Shighav, with the assistance of Malappa Hongal, Mohan Mysore, Vanajakshi and Padma Kodagu, the play’s music was composed by Ismail Gonal. Head of the Department of Foreign Languages in BU, Sathoshi Hatha, presented a flute recital before the play.
